Approver can’t see absence requests

Fix issues where an approver receives an email to approve a request, but the request doesn’t appear in their tasks list.

If an approver receives an approval email but can’t see the request in their tasks list, the request may already be in progress or completed. In some cases, only the main approver will see the task, even if others receive notifications.

📌 Note: You need the correct approver permissions to approve absence requests.

Approve the request from the calendar

If the task isn’t visible, complete the approval from the calendar instead.

  1. Go to your dashboard, then click Edit calendar for.

  2. Select the user.

  3. Click the requested absence:

    • Click once to approve.

    • Click twice to decline.

  4. Click Save.

Check if the request is already completed

If you can’t approve from the email link:

  • Another approver may have already approved or declined the request.

  • The task will no longer appear in your tasks list.

Understand approver visibility

  • The main approver sees the request in Tasks.

  • Alternate approvers may receive email notifications but won’t see the task.

  • Alternate approvers must approve requests from the calendar.

Fix ongoing issues

If you still can’t approve the request:

  • Check your approver role and permissions.

  • Confirm the request hasn’t already been processed.

  • Check system configuration if the issue affects multiple users.
