If you need to temporarily stop users from making changes, you can remove update rights from absence types. This blocks bookings without affecting access to the system.

šŸ“Œ Note: You need HR Admin permissions to update absence type settings.

Remove update rights

  1. Click HR Admin, then click Setup.

  2. Click Types.

  3. For each absence type:

    • Review existing Update rights.

    • Remove all selected roles.

  4. Press Enter, then click Save.

Understand how this works

  • Users can still log in and view their calendars.

  • Users can’t request, edit, or cancel absences.

  • HR Managers can still make changes using HR access.

Restore user access

When you want to enable changes again:

  1. Return to HR Admin > Setup > Types.

  2. Reapply the original Update rights for each absence type.

  3. Click Save.

šŸ“Œ Tip: Make a note of existing update rights before removing them to restore settings quickly.

When to use this

Use this option when:

  • Freezing leave requests (for example, during audits or system updates).

  • Preventing changes during a specific period.
