Correct incorrectly capped carryover

Restore carryover allowance when a rollover cap was applied incorrectly.

If carryover was capped incorrectly during rollover, you must correct this manually. The system doesn’t automatically restore removed carryover once rollover is complete.

📌 Note: You need HR Admin permissions to update allowances.

Use the rollover report

If you saved the rollover report:

  • Check the Spare allowance or carryover values.

  • Identify users whose remaining holiday exceeded the cap.

Update carryover values

  1. Click HR Admin, then click Allowances and start dates.

  2. Find the user.

  3. Update Prior Year Holiday Rollover.

  4. Enter the correct value from the rollover report.

  5. Click Save.

Example

  • User had 7 days remaining.

  • Carryover was capped at 5 days.

To correct:

  • Change Prior Year Holiday Rollover from 5 to 7.

Apply updates in bulk

To update multiple users:

  • Review the rollover report.

  • Update each user’s carryover value individually.

  • Save regularly to avoid losing changes.

Understand limitations

  • You can’t reverse the rollover itself.

  • You must manually restore carryover values.

  • Accuracy depends on your rollover report or archive data.

Prevent future issues

  • Review rollover settings before running the process.

  • Confirm carryover caps and expiry rules.

  • Save the rollover report for reference.
