If you need to allow users to carry over more holiday than usual (for example, due to policy changes), you can remove the carryover cap during the rollover process and extend the expiry date.

šŸ“Œ Note: You need HR Admin permissions to run the rollover process and configure carryover settings.

Remove the rollover cap

When running rollover:

  1. Click HR Admin, then click Utilities.

  2. Run End of year rollover program.

  3. Select Rollover allowed, not capped.

This allows users to carry forward all unused holiday.

Extend the expiry date

  1. During the rollover process, set a value in New Holiday Rollover Expiry Date.

  2. Choose a date beyond the next business year.

This ensures users have extended time to use their carryover allowance.

Understand how carryover works

  • Carryover is configured during the rollover process.

  • You don’t need to update settings before year end.

  • The system applies rules when rollover is run.

Understand system limitations

  • You can only set one expiry date for all carried-over leave.

  • You can’t split carryover into multiple expiry periods.

  • You can’t combine capped and uncapped carryover at the same time.

Plan your approach

  • Decide whether to cap or uncap carryover before running rollover.

  • Set a suitable expiry date for all carried-over leave.
