If you need to restrict certain absence types for specific users, you can use locale rules to control availability. This allows you to enable or disable absence types based on location or business structure.

📌 Note: You need HR Admin permissions to manage locale rules. The Locales module must be enabled on your account.

Enable absence types for specific locations

  1. Click HR Admin, then click Setup.

  2. Click Locale Rules.

  3. Click Enable editing of locale rules.

  4. Select the required absence types or categories for each location.

  5. Click Save.

Exclude absence types

To restrict an absence type:

  • Clear the selection for locations where users shouldn’t access it.

  • Leave it selected only for relevant locations.

This ensures users only see and book applicable absence types.

Fix missing absence buttons

If users can’t see absence options:

  • Check the correct types are selected in Locale Rules.

  • Confirm the user’s location has a valid locale assigned.

📌 Note: If no locale is set for a location, users may not see any absence buttons.

Enable the Locales module

If you don’t see locale options:

  • The module may not be enabled on your account.

  • Contact your administrator to enable this feature.
